A Poem I Wrote Long Ago

Artemis Attire

She wears a blue dress

Only at seven o’clock

A pair of Louboutin’s stomp

Over and over

She wears an honest smile

Only at seven thirty

But still desires some company

Over and over

She wears her pretty makeup

Only at eight o'clock

To hide the dark rings under her eyes

Over and over

She wears sexy lingerie

Only at eight thirty

To feel feminine and beautiful

Over and over

She wears her emotions

Only at nine o’clock

To expose the frustration of unrequited love

Over and over

She wears a sharp razor

Only at nine thirty

To externally feel the pain she feels inside

Over and over

She wears bubbly cold bath

Only at ten o’clock

To soak away all emotion

Over and over

She wears a heavy frown

Only at ten thirty

Because she must take off the façade

Over and over

She wears the tears on her pillow

Only at eleven o’clock

Just thinking of the sunrise

Over and over

She wears a robe around the house

Only at eleven thirty

As she contemplates something new

Over and over

She wears a noose for the first time

It's barely stricken midnight

So people will think of her

Over and over
