Short Story

I just signed out for my last day of active duty

Now I have the tiring task of packing my house and traveling this long journey from the Midwest back to the South

15 hours really Now here I go there is a rumble in my belly, I have to stop to put something in my mouth to endure this long drive

I feel like turning around and laying down

Damn I still have eight hours left can someone help me.

It’s dark outside and I’m in the mountains oh my god I’m terrified oh heights. Oh there goes my anxiety.

I’m finally out the mountains with four hours left. No more fear for this Army Veteran. Home sweet home this Army Veteran is now safe. What a journey it has been to serve this country and return home safe. I walk out my home shots ring out. I’m hit now I’m gone.
