Ariel’s Story

Love/Heartbreak Poetry

Tears flow freely into the depths of the ocean below

My voice shakes and quivers as the sobs threaten to create ripples of earthquakes along the shoreline

My body curls in and of itself as if to protect it from dissolving into the sea foam that washes up onto the shores I once loved

To which point I return to Ursula and beg for her to take my voice away

So I never have to say aloud how my own heart is no longer vibrant and alive but stale and decayed

All because my Prince Charming never made any intentions to stay
