I stand, waiting in anticipation
Soon it’ll be my turn I think
As he turns back to look at me
The world slowly fades away
I stare at my target; waiting;
Willing my heart to slow down
Unsure of myself, I shuffle
My feet must be planted perfectly
When I think I’m ready
I pull back and wait…
Suddenly I’m soaring through the air
Heading straight for my ultimate destination
Straight, hurtling through the wind
I am flying! Faster! Faster!
Something yellow is blinding me
As I make contact; Bam!
I’m no longer flying,
Instead just hanging there; waiting…
I snap back to reality
No longer soaring, flying, traveling
Just standing, waiting, anticipating
As I load my next arrow,
To make my next shot,
To become the arrow yet again.
