I wrote this song

Anybody By: Ashley Laws

(Sad piano acoustic)

(Verse 1) Saw her reflection in the mirror

Wondered why it wasn't clear

So blurred and blacked out

At the image in the mirror

She grabbed a rock and shed a tear

How'd she end up like this?

Grabbed a pen and wrote her name

Signed and dated who's to blame

For feeling this way?

Words of wisdom flood the page

Broken promises in outrage

No ones on her side

(Chorus) it's not like anybody cares, not like anybody knows, not like anybody can see the tears that start to roll, not like anybody tries, not like anybody cries, not like anybody even wonders why

(2nd verse) To my mother I am sorry, to my father was it worth it? To find me this way. To my best friend I love you, to my brother I'll miss you, but I have gone away. Never forget the memories, just calm down and count to three, it'll be over. You were way better off than stuck looking at my scars.

(Chorus) It's not like anybody cares, not like anybody knows, not like anybody can see the tears that start to roll, not like anybody tries not like anybody cries not like anybody even wonders why

(Verse 3) ohhhhhh... broken. And aloneeeeeeeee ohhhh nooooo

(Chorus) it's not like anybody cares, not like anybody knows, not like anybody can see the tears that start to roll. Not like anybody cries, not like anybody tries, not like anybody even wonders..... not like anybody cares, not like anybody knows, not like anybody can see the tears that start to roll, not like anybody tries, not like anybody cries, not like anybody even wonders why

Lyrics by Ashley laws copyright I do own these lyrics legally just not the music

Bio: For as long as I can remember all I have ever wanted to do in life is sing. My biggest regret is not taking the steps to go further with my music. Life happens and you have to man up and take responsibilities, pushing your dreams to the side. I have one of the biggest hearts and strongest passions for music. I can feel it deep down inside of me like the magic you feel when you eat a donut. I have so much left in me and I’m not ready to give up yet. I don’t sing just to sing. I sing because of the joy it brings me. I sing because for a small amount of time I feel everything, I feel invisible like I’m standing on stage in my own private little world.

Meaning of the song: So in this song “Anybody” the main Character is struggling. She is struggling with herself and with others. Have you ever felt invisible? Lost? Alone? Scared? I’m sure you have been bullied or scarred in some other way. Everyone has a past. The issue with this character is she has hit her rock bottom, She has reached a point of no return. Its for the reader to determine and decide on how the song ends. Does she commit suicide or will she ever find help? The line “ to my father was it worth it” you can determine that most likely her father left her causing her to feel like it was her own fault. You can tell she loves her family very much and doesn't want to disappoint them, so instead of confronting the issues face to face she writes a goodbye letter. Stating her unconditional love and explaining why she has felt the need to die. “Looking at my scars” as for this line it speaks for itself. Scars usually equal cut marks but could it be a much deeper metaphor maybe symbolizing scars on the inside. You could infer that possibly her family always was keeping things bottled up and pretending to be fine. But however you interpret it, it doesn't matter. Everyone has their own meaning to a song that best suits what they are currently experiencing.
