Anxiety in the corner,
Shaking,
Trembling,
Fear,
Everything is blurry,
Behind a whirlwind of pain,
A splash of tears.
Five,
Things you can see.
Four,
Things you can touch.
Three,
Things you can hear.
Two,
Things you can smell.
One,
Thing you can taste.
Settles the mind.
Grounds you they say.
Your heart will calm down,
Your mind will relax,
Your breathing will slow,
The world stops spinning,
Reality comes back.
But it’s that reality,
You longed to escape.
It’s that reality,
That made your mind quake.
The trouble with Anxiety,
Is that it’s always near.
It’s not something you can,
See,
Touch,
Hear,
Smell,
Taste.
But it’s something you can overcome,
With a little bit of faith.
Something you can battle.
Your stronger then this place.
Even when you find,
That the methods don’t work.
It’s not about the methods,
It’s not about what you do-
It’s completely and fully,
All about you.
So when Anxiety’s in the corner,
You’re trembling with fear,
Just remember the value of you.
The value of your worth.
Just remember that you are the author,
Of your own story.
Anxiety is in the backseat,
You are the driver.
