Anxiety

Snow and Pain

You left me alone with my thoughts,

Returning later and questioning my tears,

The sound of my soul was simply too violent to be heard by anything but my heart,

It tears through my skin,

leaving only the sensation of remembered pain behind.

I want to emulate the snow,

cold, heavy, still,

I wish my heart would turn to ice,

leaving the blood inside to morph into ruby fractals,

still, cold, calm,

Sometimes the pain is more than a memory.
