Anxiety

Just Stop Aching

Tongue pressed

against the roof of my mouth

jaws clenched like

two angry fists

ready to punch through my teeth

throat at the tip of my gums

aching

like a fish on the sand

curled up and fighting

deep breaths straining

against tissue for a second's release

like desperate lovers

aching

I want to scream

but with no sound or action

I close my eyes

Because I don't want to hear myself

aching

I need to run endlessly

pounding pavement with tiny legs

trembling and tired

aching

I don't want to ever

I can't stand this ever

aching

Please just stop

aching
