Anxiety

There's no smoke warning.

But anxiety is not a volcano

There’s no smoke warning

It is an earthquake that shakes you to the core

Without warning

Without consideration

Just like the earth, the problem comes from within

Your brain proving that is is an inevitably changing and moving being

Convergent plate boundaries form mountains to overcome

The aftershocks

The fear of it striking again haunts you

Anticipation as you await paralyzation

The next day comes damage control

How can I rebuild what has come tumbling down

We build stronger

sturdier

and with hope that we outsmarted it this time

We must have

But anxiety is not a volcano

There’s no smoke warning

It is an earthquake that shakes you to the core…
