Anxiety

It is a mental thing.

People with anxiety try so hard to push it off as if it’s nothing as if it’s not weighing down on your chest any chance it gets, knocking any dose of air from your lungs out your nose or mouth. We push it off as if it’s not a big deal and as if it doesn’t bother us or make us want to burst out the class/work in tears because everything is closing in on you and you can’t seem to find or see your way out. You don’t take pills because what good is that. So you slowly let it just take you over. At times you sit there crying, screaming silently for help but no one hears you. Because it’s a mental thing. Anxiety is a mental thing. And no one can hear it or see it. It comes when it wants and leaves after it drains you of all that you are. In all honesty I don’t know what’s worse, not being able to breathe when it does happen or not knowing how to control it when it takes you over and swoops you under the sea. It is a mental thing.
