Vegan Activism

Anonymous for the voiceless

Two types of activism I do,

For one I am Anonymous

masked and silent

we stand in the street

spreading our message of peace,

peace for all beings.

For why love one, yet eat another

standing tall, standing proud

we show the truth.

Some can see it, yet others refuse

wishing to remain blind to the suffering.

A vigil, is the other from of activism I do,

We go to bear witness

at the slaughter house gates,

to let the animals going to their deaths

know that someone cares.

See the fear in their eyes

know their pain.

They can smell the death.

They are afraid

they look at me

because I look the same as their oppressor,

but once they see, they know I mean no harm.

They see my love for them.

I'm sorry, I say, for what is happening to you

I am trying.

All the evil in the world

Begins and ends by man's own hand.

I try to lessen that hurt.

For I am Vegan.

Once you have seen the evil,

Terror, the slaughter

you can never un-see.

What are we doing this for?
