And They're Off!
First or last, we all finish in the end.
Questions
of the question mark
questions lead to the truth
if not, we live in lies
toy horses in the shadow of Seabiscuit
we could never outrun that horse
the same applies to the truth
our feet should be sore from all the running by now
though as long as there's a means to the END
we will
walk
run
skip
jump
crawl
till the last drop of
blood
sweat
tears
some make it to their ideal place in forever
the others make their way to the backs of our minds
and yet
here I am
a man of twenty one
feeling like a man of fifty
spine buckling from the weight of understanding
each day a pebble is added
proceeding an unfathomable amount of time, a boulder is formed
buckling is weakness
holding fast is futile
desires come and go with the tide
so we push the boulder up the hill like Sisyphus
and back down it goes
eventually after a hundred million or so times the boulder will turn to sand, returning to its original state
the race doesn't stop for us
we need only honor our place in time
as it were
nothing more
nothing less.
