Poem About a Mentally Abusive Relationship

When you held me in your arms tight

I began to sink into you and trust

You were not the evil one

You held me just

The right way every night and

When my thoughts went away you would

Begin to pray that I would only be yours

Forever yours

Nobody to talk to

Not even my family, you wanted me

All to yourself you prayed.

Making me believe I was weak

I would watch every move, not even a squeak

Out of my mouth, I would silently scream

Scream for the scars you left

Scream for the mistakes you made

Hurt me and left me betrayed.
