Hi.

It’s me.

You probably didn’t even know I liked you. I tried my best to hide it.

I never saw you coming.

Out of all the people in the world, I never would have guessed it would be you.

It took me a while to realize that I loved you.

I thought it was just another crush.

But you were something different.

You were caring.

You were funny.

You always made me feel better.

You never made me uncomfortable,

And I always got excited to see you.

You accepted me for how I was,

No matter how nerdy I was at such a young age.

It was dangerous to fall in love with you.

I kept my feelings locked behind closed doors, only to open them when no one was around.

If I let you know, I knew it would’ve changed everything.

So my first love story will always be one that only I know.

You made me want to better myself.

To be more adventurous, to care more.

You made me change who I was, to become who I am today.

You have truly changed my life,

And I firmly believe that I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t met you.

So, to my first love, although you still don’t know who you are,

Thank you.

Thank you for the sleepless nights, for the smiles and the tears, for the feelings.

But most importantly, thank you for taking me on the most wild ride of my life.

I will never forget you.

And I know when someone asks me who my first love was, I will simply smile and think of you.

But my response will always be “I don’t remember.”
