An Ode to My Heart

An ode to my broken heart, because I know she needs it more than I do.

I'll write a message to my heart,

For the times she can't love.

For the moments it's too hard,

To keep pushing.

I'll write her a letter to say,

How much I love her,

Even on her worst day.

Even when I feel she's misguided me,

Even when I feel she's too harsh,

I'll write a note for her to read,

I'll write an ode to her heart.

Because who will love her if not me?

Who will comfort her, if not me?

Reassure her, when she afraid she's made the wrong decision.

I get it, I do.

I was once her too.

I'll write a postcard,

From the outside looking in.

I'll write thank you to her soul,

Because I know it works hard,

I know it feels labored,

I know it's been tolled.

So I say, I appreciate you my love.

The immense measures you go to.

I am indebted to your resilience,

I am credited to your strength,

And I am enlightened by your willingness to love.

And ode to my heart,

Because I'm tired of her feeling broken.

Let me help put you back together again.
