An Artist's Poem

You'd never know.

I like paint, I like to draw

You'd never suspect

How I feel if you saw

Inside the lines

Underneath the lead

My art comes to life

While I am dead

I'm barely breathing

While a sketch is born

Tears streaming down

And colors worn

Picture perfect pattern

Worth a thousand words

I'm too tired to speak

So my artwork must be heard

Subtle texture

And pretty prints

Makes you feel happy

But I'm dropping hints

Angelic angles

Beautifully blended

It reminds you of what

The world could be if it ended

It is not a reflection

Of how I feel at all

But how I wish it could be

And that makes me feel small

Because wishing and wanting

Can play with your mind

It only disappoints you

More and more everytime

I like to paint, I like to draw

You'd never suspect

How I feel if you saw

Inside the lines

Underneath the lead

My art comes to life

While I am dead
