An Apology

For the one who stole my voice.

A shiver went through me the first time I heard your voice

It was the kind of shiver that makes you warm afterwards

It was pleasant and unexpected

just like the melodies you created when you spoke

I expected the sound of a flower blooming when I first saw you

but instead, I got something stronger and braver

like a tornado, it shattered my expectations and left me speechless

anxiety filled me because I felt like my voice wasn't worthy of yours

as if whatever created it wanted it to be the only melody ever played

and thus silence embraced me

because that had become my wish as well
