An Angel

Poetry

I look outside my window, watching the rain fall so silently down

I know that I must make a choice, one that could affect my whole life

I see the rain fall so slowly down, wishing the answer would just come to me

I silently pray that everything will work out just the way God wants it

I watch the rain cascade from the trees and dwindle down to the ground

I hear the soft rumbling of thunder in the distance

I turn away from my window and glance around my dark room

I feel something, a sense of peace, I do not feel so alone

I sit on my bed and begin to pray some more about the direction I am to take

I suddenly feel cold, yet I still feel so calm

I look up from my now tear streaked eyes and see a bright white light

The light turns to a bright white cloud of smoke on my bedroom floor right before my eyes

I watch in amazement as the cloud of white smoke forms into a white silhouette

Then I watch as the silhouette forms eyes, hands, feet, and a smile across its face

I watch as the form is now a person in a white cloth robe made of satin

I see the wings gently flowing out from behind them and the golden halo perched on their head

It is an angel who has visited me on the night I needed them the most

The angel guided me in what I was supposed to do

My prayers were answered, I rejoiced and thanked the angel

Just like that the angel disappeared as quickly as they came

But I felt so calm and peaceful still

I felt ready to take on the next challenge

I knew just then that the angel came down to help me in my hour of need

I knew that in that moment God had answered my prayers and sent his angel to save me.
