Alzheimer's

It steals things.

How did you come in the thief of the night…why must it happen? Affecting the brain

There used to be a time filled with laughter and an active lifestyle

Although, each day is a repeating factor such as the rain

Yet looking in the mirror gets confusing each day…memories are lost

Familiar objects and faces leave a deep thought of confusion

Each day requiring assistance due to wandering and exhaust

Words are in a rumble…thoughts are disorganized…who are you

Memory games are fun yet the next day teach me all over again

Please be patient with me yet if it could be corrected yes undo

However, 3-7 years is what they give, leaving families in tears

The delusion is what happens when you visit

Mood swings occur…Who are you…left with daily fears

Awaken to see bruises on the body or unexplained falls

Therefore, accepting your empathy yet this is not considered normal

Placed in a building for safety with so many walls

Hobbies were so enjoyable at once … now they have faded away

No routine…for food or water … please don’t forget to visit

Yet no memory… when you come there is a sudden smile and we play

Many assume that Alzheimer’s comes only to older people…Not true

It can happen in the middle age stage with individuals slowly start forgetting simple things

It can be anyone …it does not discriminate yet it only pursues

We live in a world with some many complications such as illness

So everyday live your life…travel…make albums… exercise…never give up hope

Once again, who are you… just left in a room of stillness
