Alone in New York City
The City That Never Sleeps

Taking time to appreciate the chaos around me
I stand still
Another blank face in the crowd
The rain is hitting my coat, with the power of a thousand needles
I watch from the outside of a cafe
Lovers , friends and families
Window shopping for a life I’ll never be apart of
At night the city is a hazy dream
Over looking central park from my apartment
These memories are haunting me
The moon beams have left me now
How many more are lost, yearning to be free
Staying up until the early morning
This is the city that never sleeps
