Alone and Forgotten

There was a girl who lived

In a perfect family

She was a straight A’s student

Always knew how to have a good time

But no one knew how she really felt

Night after night she cried herself to sleep

To wake up in the morning and put a smile on

For the rest of the world

To believe that she was happy

No one knew that behind closed

She would cut her hips

To take away the pain

That perfect family that she lived in

Was not as perfect as everyone thought

At night when she was asleep

Her mother and father would scream

Their heads off at each other

Everyone thought she was so strong

But one day her world came tumbling down

She could not take the pain any longer

That happy go lucky girl

Locked herself in the bathroom

While no one was home

Drew a bath and laid down

With one quick slash

Cut two vertical lines on both wrists

With tears running down her face

She sunk down into the warm water

Thinking to herself

I am finally free from all of this pain

Sometimes the happiest people

Feel the most alone
