Alone

In a Crowded Room

Alone in a crowded room

Words are being spoken but none understood

The faceless mass talking and laughing

The air grows thick you can hardly breathe

Pulse quickens sweat beads on your forehead you have to sit

Don't talk to me please... don't look this way

I'd promised I would come but I can't bear to stay

The walls close in. Vision blurs.

I leave the room not having uttered a word.
