Alone

A Poem About Being Alone

I've been alone for days

Do not be confused I do not complain

I've been content with this and

I hardly do I miss the murmurs of a crowd

For they're thoughts are too loud

I've been the only one caressing my skin

I would much rather listen to the whispers of the wind

Much rather feel your vibrations on my skin

Not your heart, love

But your consciousness

No interest in your clothes

I wanna watch you get

Intellectually naked

Get me wet with your words

Not with sweet talk, but with intelligence

Not from school, love

But from experience

From deep within

Like the ocean

Keep your mind open

Reach into the abyss of all of you

I won't settle for a portion

All of me for all of you

Or leave me to my solitude
