Almost Ready

Great Grandma Rongey

Your face lit up into a smile

Your arms wrapped around me tight

In a hug.

You sang me little lullabies

A mother's love in your eyes

Memories.

I never want to leave your side

Thought you'd never leave mine.

Never thought it would happen

Should've known that it would

Wish I would've been there more.

Hoped that I could stay

You always loved those pretty blooms

Your eyes sparkled when they grew,

In your dreams.

On your last days right here with me

You never failed to lead me

In His ways.

And I never want to see you suffer

But I don't want you to leave.

You took my heart with you

Good luck to you in heaven

As Mawmaw cries.

Please just give me strength

To face each new day.

I'm trying not to think about Her

But the memories.
