All of my life I thought the best and most beautiful poetry happens when the writer is depressed.
I'd like to say I was right but I wasn't, in fact the best poetry is written when one is in love. I should know, its 12 a.m. and I'm sitting in my bathtub with my dirty white Converses hanging off the ledge.
The best things in life are the ones you're afraid of. Ironic, don't you think? I don't mean the monsters you fear are under your bed or the things you have never said that are trapped in your head. I mean afraid to fall in love, to move on, the small things blind to a corrupted eye. Some people say that if you fall in love, you're bound to crash and hit the ground. But the truth is you only crash when there's something to crash into.
Love is afraid of being human! A flower that is blooming is more afraid, find a good guy before spreading Beauty to the darkening sky.
Give me love like hers, because it's been a while and I still can't admit my heart's under construction, afraid or reluctant to do something for fear of judgement.
And my poetry is dependent on her love when everyone else is more like a drug, addicting but harming.
I said the best poetry is when you are in love, but what is love Really? I'm afraid to know, and that's what makes it so, so beautiful!
