All That There Is

Unrequited Love

All that there is to say has been said.

After this the poems will be returned to bed.

So many ways to say I love you

Everyone knows this to be true

But another thing known true by all

Is that it's pointless speaking to a brick wall

It's been known for years how I've felt

and even on one knee knelt

I wouldn't put on my worst enemy the pain I've held in

Withstanding so much pain should be considered a sin

I've seen this movie and I know how it ends

With the guy so much in love staying only a friend

Still for you I would fight the devil himself

Without the fear of damage or death

It's never been just about sex or lust

I want something stronger than just that when it comes to us

I will love you until the day I die

The truth of this is in every tear I've cried

But I'll no longer beat this dead horse

I know now that unrequited love for me may be par for the course

heartbreak
