“let’s go on an adventure,” I say
as a jingle, my keys and pray
that my dog doesn’t take me out today
on the way out the door
We never go very far
Sometimes just to the car
On an errand or to the mall
An adventure can be so small
Every day is an adventure
If you choose to live that way
No day is just the same
They just seem that way
Everyone has a different opinion
Small adventures or big ones?
I like the small adventures
The little moments of fun
The memories that fall suite
Are no reason to run
I’ve never been into big adventures
Traveling the world
hiking in my dreams
I would rather read it seems
Have you ever read a book?
It takes you to another world
Gives you a far-off look
Educates you in the most comfortable style
Encouraging you to stay awhile
But I have a big adventure coming up
I don’t know when
I don’t know what
I just have this feeling in my gut
That an adventure is coming
No matter what
