I'm always watching you with admiring eyes.
The way that you laugh and the way that you smile.
You move with confidence and walk with strength.
Yet your soul is kind and your heart is full of grace.
You accept me for me and you never judge.
You're spirit is a mountain, it doesn't budge.
The wind at your back and the sun on your face.
You're a beacon of light in this dark place.
How often I think 'I want to be like you.'
And I know some day I will make that come true.
I'm always envying you with these admiring eyes.
Some day I'll be like you and make the whole world smile.

Sleep Evades Me
The world calms and darkens. The hum of the long day slowly quiets as the world sleeps. I lay here listening to the silence. Coaxing my mind to sleep. As much as I crave it, want it, need it... It still manages to evade me. The sheep betray me for I count and count and still, here I lay. Eyes wide. Mind running wild. Listening to the deafening sound of the crushing silence.
