Adieu

For Now

I thought the sun set just for us.

The world settling into peace,

Mixing tangerines and plums,

Filling the sky with fresh vanilla and cotton candy,

Turning us all to our hot cocoa and warm blankets,

We all sit, and take a deep breath to let it all seep in.

A new sunset,

A new mixture,

A new composition,

Everyday.

Just to give you a taste.

My love,

Isn't it a masterpiece?

Silence rises.

The fruit sat out too long, it begins to wilt away.

The flies are starting to attack.

The sky turns mute, and still.

Yellow turns to grey,

Warmth is just not enough,

The air starts to thicken,

We just want one more second of beauty,

But it's gone.

This state of flustering confusion,

All before blackness.

All before the quiet pearl take over the sky.

All before silence fills our ears.

All before you left,

Taking away all that was yellow,

You were as silent as the night,

So now, here's my chance,

To bid you adieu.
