it’s like.
how’s it like?
oh, right.
the rain falls in waves
in couplets they flow
most fall down together
but some go it alone
they fall down to the floor
with one job in their mind
others find it easy
but a few are behind
like you.
when the world is asleep and your work is piled up
you know something’s wrong, you can feel it at night
but your mind can’t focus
despite all your might
in school and at home
and in all walks of life
there’s this problem with focusing
almost like - you just can’t get it right
it’s these silly mistakes
and that one missing piece
though you tried so so hard
to find your own golden fleece
it’s when you know what to do
and you know how to do it
but there this and there’s that
so you can’t sit still or work for shit
“hello? are you listening
do you even care?”
yes! yes, friend, of course,
but there’s just so much IN HERE
when you daydream all day
and empathy is too hard
you just want to be accomplished
without that ADHD card
and it’s really not that simple
with that one dumb quarrel
those stereotypes are dangerous
that simplification of oh, look, a squirrel!
so, i’m listening, i am
i care and i’m trying
my head just won’t sit still
and i have trouble with applying
there’s no point in bickering
i’m already marred
i see everyone functioning fine
when i’ve got to work twice as hard
you have to remember
it’s like fifty channels in one big jumble
so you'll just have to excuse me
if occasionally i forget, screw up, and fumble
