The most the compulsion had done was make his hand shake and his blood drip.
He thought it would be enough to stop the pain.
He'd smile at the relief he felt and go numb.
He wanted to feel the hurt.
He believed he deserved it so maybe he did.
Relapse was worse, relief then guilt, it was a vicious never-ending cycle.
The thoughts about it wouldn't stop until he did it again.
Only then the pain would stop.
He couldn't stop.
He was an addict after all.
