An introspective poem

I remember a year ago

Broken and bruised

Hurt and confused

The weight on my shoulders

Nothing left to lose

Everything was already gone

The love and devotion

Deep seated emotion

A feeling of emptiness

Like a vast expanse of ocean

I thought it couldn't get worse

How did I end up here?

Full of regret and fear

Drained of my feelings

Nothing left but tears

But no matter how hard it got

I never gave in

I wouldn't let it win

It would take some time

But I would stand tall in the end

Because I was the one

Who gave until I broke

And the words that I spoke

Out of frustration and anger

Were truth, not a joke
