A World Full of Hate
A Poem by 16-Year-Old Me
I wish you could see what I see.
I wish you could feel what I feel.
I wish you could just be me.
Just for a day, maybe two.
I wish you could walk a mile in MY shoes.
But that's not how life works.
Reality can be such a jerk.
You want what you can't have.
You don't always get what you deserve.
Life is like a game.
It's all about the worth.
If you don't have the fame, you don't move forth.
When you're lost and alone, no one cares.
Even when you helped them through their pain.
For them, yours is too much to bear.
This world is too full of hate.
Whatever happened to being fair?
One day we'll all wake up to find it's too late.
Try to fix the world if you dare.
But you won't succeed.
You'll end up on your knees.
Because if you don't have greed,
You'll never survive.
In a world full of judgment, we have no lives.
Our souls have been taken.
It's ourselves to blame.
We listen to the media too much.
It's such a shame.
Everyone is blinded by the evil disguise.
They don’t want to look past the stars in the skies.
Hate is the mask that covers their faces.
Making jokes about all the races.
But deep down inside we're all the same.
Yet in a world so cold, we can't help but play the game.
Too many lost souls trying to find their way home.
But they're stuck here trying to pick at the bones.
Too many people say this world sucks.
When really they're the ones, too, after the "bucks."
"We need to fix this world," they all say.
Yet they provide no help to all the dismay.
The End is coming real soon.
It's going to be way too late.
Let's change the awful tune,
Of a world full of hate.
