A Trip to the Zoo

Taking a Zany View

Tommy the turtle, and Bill the badger, were on the way to the zoo,

They met up with Morris the mouse, and Freddie the frog, who said they wanted to come along too,

Terry the tiger, and Lennie the lion, were waving at them through the cages,

As Ali the alligator was reading the Beano, and Bobby the bear was turning the pages.

Christopher the camel was eating his lunch, and Eric the elephant was swinging his trunk,

Matthew the monkey was swinging around his cage, and Ollie the owl was hiding in his bunk,

Peter the parrot was squawking on a wall,

And Edward the elephant was playing with his ball

So that's a brief trip to the zoo,

I enjoyed the visit, and I hope you did too.

DAVID PRIOR

I write poetry, when the mood takes me. It may be something topical or on occasions I have a request. I take one day at a time, never take anything for granted, and believe that love and laughter make the world a better place.
