A Symbol

What does the American flag mean to you?

The one and only American flag.

Black stars and blue stripes

And a red field.

Craziness in all types,

Makes the dreamer, in his mind, take shield.

Awakened to find the banner

Flying in the wind,

The dreamer sees the message that the warriors tried to send.

He retains his composure and every manner.

It’s greatness that flies.

Colors run deep and true.

Like an eagle that cries

Once hoisted, pride is then renewed.

Secure this standard like a precious child.

Continue to make it strong.

Never falter or make it meek and mild.

Keep it glorious as the countrymen go along.

Know that it is a symbol,

And that to protect it you must be focused and nimble.
