A Summer’s Grief

June’s Sadness

Rays strike the fractured ground, scalping the peach soft skin of my soles. Scurrying away like an in hibernation the breath of the apologetic breeze strokes at my tortured helpless body, it coos like a mother crow does to her young . The proud majestic tree won’t be forgotten as it boasts and stretches out its chartreuse arms sweeping away the cruel, callous heat.

Ripples cascade across the turquoise sea magical shapes from it dance along the floor beckoning me in. Sharp and crisp my tender flesh breaks through the icy water, remorsefully the water caresses my abused body.

June never smelt so sweet, her perfume of gardenia and cherry blossom wafts through the air, only to be poisoned by raging storms. The universe thumps its fists before pulling out and stomping on hearts, laughing as they lose every drop of life. Seas blacken and curdle, sparks dot around this sapphire paradise. Summer has been stolen and replaced by heartless, bulbous grey masses of cloud in the joyless heartbroken sky.
