A Poem About Love That Made My Boyfriend Cry
Plus, a song so wholesome I can't help but share it.
Love, is you
Ringing me
Before I fall asleep
At 11PM just to
Tell me goodnight.
It's reminding me
To tie my shoelaces
So I don't fall.
It's ordering me
Food even though
I told you five times,
I am not hungry.
When you brush
My hair when I
Cannot be bothered,
And when you buy
me gifts, just
Because you say
I deserve it.
But do you deserve me? Maybe.
Do I deserve you? Surely not -
But it seems
No matter how hard
I may push you
Away, or test you,
Or tease you
Or anything in-between,
Here you are.
Waiting for me when
I get home after a
long day at work,
Greeting me with that
Infamous grin
That tells me
Three little words. You
Do not have to
Say them for me to know
They circle your mind
Like bees
Around a sunflower.
But I am the garden
And you are the gardener.
You're the suncream
When it's too hot, and
You're that cherry on top.
The butterflies
Go crazy when I think
Of your
gorgeous, deep eyes.
I ask myself:
What is this I'm feeling?
Both brain and heart agree
(For once)
That this, my dear
Is love.
