A short story
by Kandis Kellie,
You know that awful lump in one's throat?
And the empty pit in the bottom of one's stomach, while missing someone who is gone?
Yeah that?
That's always the easiest part, isn't it?
When does it stop?
Are we ever going to heal?
Maybe.
And then again, maybe not.
Maybe the reason losing someone hurts so bad is because it's supposed to show us how much they meant to us.
Overtime that hurt dwindles away...
and you tend to feel a little bit better.
But even just the slightest thought of them... and it comes right back.
That hurt never really goes away, does it?
We learn to live with it.
What if instead of learning to live with it, we make it a part of us?
We make that pain of losing that someone a part of us as a reminder of how much we truly love them.
A reminder of how much we'll always love them.
