A Mother's Prayer

A Poem

She listens to you when you sleep

Hoping you will stay her sheep

She is always there holding your hand

Even when life felt like a wetland

She gave you food and clothes to wear

And before bed said a little prayer

Sleep my love and close your eyes

Dream of love and bright blue skies

One day when you are older

Older than me and much more bolder

I will be old and ready to sleep

So don't cry and please don't weep

I had you my beautiful child

I always enjoy your sweet little smile

To see you grow every day

Is not something I will dismay

So sleep my child and rest tonight

And wake tomorrow to a future so bright

Amen
