A Mother's Love

A Letter to My Son

Dear son,

Starried eyes staring up at me

Watching every emotion cross my face.

So much love radiating between us,

A dying need to hold on to each other.

You steal my breath away every time you smile,

It breaks my heart to hear you cry.

Every moment could last forever,

And I want it too.

The sun should be jealous,

Cause it could never shine as bright.

The moon could never compare,

To a smile that makes my heart swell.

The stars shine their brightest,

When you are laughing.

Your eyes steal my soul,

And I don't want it back.

Because I'll love you forever,

You'll always have my heart.

I'll always fight away your fears,

And wipe away all your tears.

You will never be alone,

For as long as I am breathing...

I will help you smile

I will give you strength when you have none

And I will love you through the good...

And the bad.

So sleep soundly my child,

There are no monsters when I'm here.

Only smiles and laughter,

And the love of a mother.

Believe in fairytales,

Wish on stars,

Pray everyday,

And always play pretend.

Love,

Mama
