A Little Girl Alone

A World So Cruel

I see a little girl,

Sitting all alone.

I wonder why she’s over here.

And why she’s not at home.

I look up at the sky,

What a dark rainy day.

Then I look at her face,

Her face, it is the same.

I now feel very bad,

For this poor little girl.

She’s stuck all alone.

In this big cruel world.

Where are her parents?

The ones that should love her

Did they die in an accident?

Or do they just not care.

How could anyone

just leave this little girl

or even as it is just ignore her

as she sits on the road all alone.

Someone should help her

But nobody will

It’s like she not even there

As they walk by unknowing

Of why she’s sitting there.

Did she run away from home?

Did she get kicked out of her house?

Were there problems,

no one would listen to?

And that’s why she’s all alone?

I know I want to help her,

I bet I’m not the only one,

But nobody else will act on it,

They just wait for someone else to,

Before they ever will.

Yes, the little girl is brave,

Sitting all alone in the pouring rain,

But the bravest person, is

the one who would offer to help her.

I want to be that person,

I want to do the right thing,

But I’m scared of what might happen,

And that’s probably everyone else thinks.
