A Letter to My Aunt

Dear aunt

You are a true inspiration

Manifesting through many bodies

You have put in my mind a seed for understanding

That my life doesn't have to be dressed in sheets of boredom once I pass the age of 35

You live your life with the passion of someone who has never been hurt

Even though you have fallen in and out of ring twice you love like a child

Pure and happy

You aspire toward new dreams

Ones you never knew you had

Your actions reassure me that I have all of my life to live

And that life only stops for death and listens to no man or thought or ancient ambition that may curse the ears of the timid

You are a healer and you love the people around you

With an energy that flows and glows and blows

Like a wind through heaven’s trees

Strong and moving.

You bless strangers with your love

And show no fear of fate

Nor sign of fatigue

Your smile is a symbol of youth

And your heart is a vessel of goodness

You fill my ears with the wholesome silk of your caring intention

As you hold me in your arms.

If you breathe I have someone

And for all the things you do

I give you my many gratitudes

Hopes allow, that you stay in my heart until I burn
