A Letter for Papa

Dear Papa

Dear Papa,

I’m writing you this letter,

In hopes that it will help me feel better.

The memories we shared over the past years,

Are the reasons behind all my tears.

I remember when you use to pick me up from school,

Bouncing around in your green truck was so cool.

All those family cookouts,

How you would dance and really show out.

I’m glad I could make you a great grandpa,

And like her mother she calls you “Papa”.

As I dry my tears I know you’re in a better place,

And because of that, I can put a smile on my face.

No more will you suffer and worry about pain,

Only happiness in sunshine; never sadness; never rain.

I wish you safe travels to your new home in the sky,

My only regret is I didn’t get to say good-bye.

Even though for the rest of my life we will be physically apart,

Just know I love you and will hold you forever in my heart.

Love,

Sharnese
