A.I. (Autistic Individual)
Autism isn't a threat or a fear.
Everyone is different,
But some of us have a common fear,
That everyone else is a normal reindeer,
And we're just Rudolph.
I know how that feels.
Some struggle with trust,
Some have different sensories or views.
Some have abnormal habits,
I'm aware of my habit, yet I still do it.
There are some of us,
Who see what we do is different,
Don't even remember if it's because they're them,
Or because of something else.
Some of us might feel like
A daisy in a field of daffodils.
I hear music and I'm kind of shocked,
To hear my feelings spoken,
From another's perspective.
We might keep our heads in the clouds,
We might want to work together for our beliefs,
We might even notice we're not much of "normal,"
But what is normal, anyway?
Some people want autism
To be expelled from our minds,
Because they think it's nothing but trouble.
I say, "There's nothing wrong with us. We're
special."
Sure, my mind might say "what if I was different?"
but my heart reminds me that I'm unique.
There are people who need to remember,
That although they may be a little unwell,
They can make a difference in the world.
Rudolph doesn't get rid of his nose,
So, why should autistic people worry,
About the need for a cure?
Soon, when you go out in the world,
You might see yourself as different,
But you're special and unique.
We're not alone, we're special

I'm not the most sophisticated adult out there. I'm also not the best at communicating all the time, but I do try my best to get my thoughts out there into the world verbally or nonverbally.
