A Helping Hand

When do we offer help?

Help is always needed, wherever we may go,but it doesn't always seem to be obvious,If help was defined as what can we can see,Most of us would be completely oblivious.

I step back and look, without using my eyes,Now I can see so much more than before,I see pain, suffering, life's empty purpose,The life that we have all been groomed for.So much anger, hate and critical opinions,Back and forth between our brothers and sisters,We claim to want the power of compassion,But habitually we act so bitter.

Help is not conditional, nor does it require approval,It is not something we do to receive thanks or gratitude,It is not limited by age, race, sex or colour,It is simply an extension of our own attitude.

To help without reason, condition or thought,Is a selfless act that nourishes the soul,We must not limit the help that we provide,To children, the vulnerable or those who are considered old.

Help is universally needed to overcome life's trials,Help can even slow down time's shifting sands,So do not be so eager to deny someone aid,Because at some point, we all, will need a helping hand.
