A Heartbeat Ended Too Soon

Love or Death?

A heartbeat ended too soon,

You were left lying in the midsummer moon.

Red strips of blood dripped onto the floor,

You’d still be alive if you hadn’t opened the door.

Knock knock, you heard at one that night,

You were so focused on work, that it gave you a fright.

You walked to the door, and you let the man in,

He was a friend to you, but little did you know of his evil grin.

He secretly held, a knife in his hand,

Waiting to kill you, just as he’d planned.

When the right time came, he stabbed her heart,

She loved him so much, but he tore her apart.

A heartbeat ended too soon,

Her eyes deadly gazing at the brightest moon.

While her face lost colour, turned pale and light,

It soon blended in, till she was the moon that shone so bright.
