Poem

Social norm social norm don't take me in your arms

Let me roam in this wilderness maintaining the bar you set

How does society portray women as beauty products that gain emotion but never logic

What philosophy is this it's normal for women to be born weaker than men

Oh social norm social norm i never expected you to hide this

How can the bearers of life possess a cocoon so fragile and named deceitful

How can a woman's worth be measured by beauty pagents and guys she slept with

Oh social norm are these the characteristics you deemed to be less meaningful

So when you said to be a man what did you truly mean?

What is it to be a woman, to possess the thoughts of being in need?

Reach out your hand social norm i might get lost without you

But as a man i should strive to seek strength and success without you

Would you still accept me if i gave my given powers to the so called fragile

Am i speaking right do my words need tweaking to maintain your expectations

Or i should use words like my bitch or girl, because woman and queen sound too empowering

Make her prioritize my needs because her fears haunted by a life filled with rejections

Rejected to be strong, rejected to be honest

Rejected to be independent, rejected to be modest

Social norm don't leave me here may my lost soul be blessed by the symbol of a dove

I'm drowning in the tears of a person who is just looking for trust and love
