A Fool's Love

A Short Poem

A Fool's Love

It seems human nature to be blind to what we have

Can you claim bankruptcy on something metaphysical?

The whole world within 24 hours reach

Yet you seem to have forgotten her face

----

East to West the sun does rise

With ever morning, a new flaming dawn

The light exposes your victor's triumph

But to win would be a thrill,

and you sink further from glory

----

It's a crisis within itself

You can place your longing, but fear the safety of loneliness

To fight this would be to question all things rational

A Voltarian dilemma

Which pains you to express

-------

"It's difficult to free a fool from the chains they revere" -Voltaire
