A Familiar Soul

A Poem

Electricity sparks with each step of her boots,

Demanding attention to scintillant attributes-

Silver echoes through the black

Webs of lace, her cool drawn back

Into the winds that whistle tunes

From which her woken soul communes.

Chaos hides beneath her cloak

Yet peace she smoothly can evoke

With a privileged solicitous grin,

Old souls instantly akin.

A glowing shawl of stars,

Past and present memoirs

Bearing on her shoulders.

Destructiveness she smolders

With preferred solitude—

Enjoys company more than she wants to elude—

A whimsical nature thrives on mystery,

Shrouding traumatic history,

Yet her heart is treasured gold.

Her body, not her mind, is old

But beautiful as ever

With attitude so incredibly clever.

She casts by laughter and prayer alone,

Not recognizing the encouraging tone

That contagiously follows along where'er

Her ambrosial purpose takes her.

Fragile is grace, be hers charred or pure.

This great summoner camouflaged as demure

Reckons with wisdom and force divine;

I'm blessed to call her a friend of mine.
