A dreamer’s mind is set to die within the glare of society’s eye.
A dreamer can see beyond where they have been set,
Their minds independent from the rhythmic patterns of the ordinary,
they see beyond the rose tinted vail placed before them.
Those in grey and green stand on watch towers bellowing;
'They must be diminished,
they must be removed,
before the others see.
See that that there is more to life,
more than the picture that has been painted,
More than what we portray from the screens of our souls
clad in the greed and green of our dollars.'
A dreamer with a heart will not let their minds of colour,
be painted grey.
to become more than a harvest,
more than a single blade of grass in the crowd of identical millions.
A dreamer will rise tall
their mind flowering
Creating something
anything
Than what would have been the norm.
Rising beyond expectations,
Beyond societies stereotypically correct.
Crushing the prison bars, set by those with voracity and fear.
Fear that you will not be controlled; contained
set within the mould.
Some who dream, this is not their ambition,
To rise to the spotlight of the favoured,
For the public parade,
To be honoured, to be destroyed.
Yet they still defeat society’s glare.
They might not rise beyond the rest,
Their name may not splatted upon spitting lips.
But a dreamer’s mind will not die under society’s eye
If prejudice and criticism falls on deaf ears.
All you must be
simply
happy
With person that you be.
